We build tools to help teams better communicate. Our team leads the development behind Open Atrium, Managing News, and MapBox.  As you can see from the projects we work on, we are both a technology implementer for international development projects and an open source research and development operation. This unique consulting practice balances deploying cutting edge technology with ensuring our tools are useful and efficient in the hands of the people who need them.

To develop mission-critical tools for our partners, we need the security, power, flexibility and sustainability that only open source software can provide. We’ve been building with Drupal for more than six years and in that time have led the development of many key modules that have impacted the wider project, including Features, Context, Spaces, Installation Profiles, Aegir, i18n, FeedAPI, the Notifications, and Messaging frameworks, the SMS
Framework, Mail Handler, and the Data module, to name a few.

We first chose to build our tools primarily with Drupal because it is powerful, it is stable, and it has a great community supporting it. We are very involved in that community, and in addition to our code contributions, we sponsor and advocate for Drupal meetups and camps worldwide. In March 2009, we organized DrupalCon DC.

Our team has partnered with some of the world’s leading international development organizations to deliver technology wins for their projects using Drupal. Holistic Solutions, Inc. is a real business located in the mountains of Western North Carolina just outside Asheville. We discovered Drupal trying to help a local non-profit build a website to promote the dissemination of knowledge about recycling in the local area.
