Quick trip down to Monterey?

Hi people,

I'm planning on taking a quick detour after the conference down to Monterey, to have a look around, and hopefully get in a (scuba) dive or two. I'm thinking either Friday or Saturday after the conference - probably drive down real early, spend the day, drive back. Anyone else interested in doing same? Especially if you either have transport, or willing to split cost of rental and gas.

If you're going that far, I'd suggest staying over, getting some food at the pier, and definitely checking out the madness of Hearst Castle while you're in the neighbourhood. It's a fair old drive, by the way.

I just booked a Dodge Charger for Fri-Sat-Sun post conference. Will probably stay down there one night, Friday. Looks like a two hour drive. Oooh yeah
