At Stanford University, I lead the technical team in the Documentation, Design, and Development (DDD) group within IT Services (the University's central IT department). The DDD group creates web sites and printed publications that help Stanford’s students, faculty, and staff use information technology effectively in their academic pursuits and everyday work. Within DDD, the technical team focuses on the authoring and development tools that DDD and other Stanford web makers need to do their work: standards, templates/skins/themes, and web application programming tools. Dave Cole is Senior Advisor to the CIO of the Executive Office of the
President. He is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and long-term
development of WhiteHouse.gov‹the official website of the President of the
United States. Prior to this role, Dave served as the Deputy Director for
Technology at the White House Office of New Media. Over the summer of 2009,
he led a team of designers and developers to build a new open source web
platform for WhiteHouse.gov.
