John Romine
John is Director of Computing for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. He leads the IT group for the school, and also develops web-based applications for automating business processes using PHP, MySQL, and Drupal. John's development focus is on open-source, reusable code to create applications with outstanding user experience.
John has been developing software since the 1970s, from assembly on 8-bit, 16-bit and 36-bit processors through high level languages including C and PHP. He's worked as a systems programmer, UNIX systems administrator, network manager, DBA, and application developer. John is a strong advocate for open-source solutions.
John is an OC native and is an active participant in the LA Drupal and OCPHP/OC Drupal groups.
