Open Source in Government
Presented by
Open Source has seen a lot of adoption from government in the last year. Dave Cole is Senior Advisor to the CIO of the Executive Office of the President. He is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and long-term development of WhiteHouse.govā¹the official website of the President of the United States. Prior to this role, Dave served as the Deputy Director for Technology at the White House Office of New Media. Over the summer of 2009, he led a team of designers and developers to build a new open source web platform for WhiteHouse.gov.
Before his appointment to the White House staff, Dave coordinated the redesign of WhiteHouse.gov as part of the Obama-Biden Transition team. He also worked on the Obama for America campaign in several states as a data analyst and field organizer.
Dave is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he studied political science, history, and computer engineering.

Is this being streamed today? I had to step out for a project conf call and may not make it back in to the venue in time. I seem to recall reading that the earlier keynotes were live online...
Found it - http://sf2010.drupal.org/keynote/live
I can think of no session that deserves to open with AC/DC's "Back in Black" more.
Is it possible to embed the video above? I copied the source code and the link at http://ia331217.us.archive.org/2/items/OpenSourceInGovernment/wed_1330_k... but cannot seem to embed correctly. Any ideas?

I'm on the Board of Open Source for America (opensourceforamerica.org), so I definitely want to see more of what is currently happening here.
