Putting Drupal to work. I started working for an enterprise networking publisher and event organizer just before the dawn of the public Internet--helped publish article like "Why Modem Speeds Will Never Top 56k." Moved from print to the web in 1999, and went through endless migrations of static sites, manual RSS feeds, podcast creation, video editing. Recently made the jump to freelance web building with a focus on Drupal--centered on helping companies structure their content, SEO, theming, leveraging contrib, multimedia.

Among other things, I manage the Drupal-powered website for Rethink Media, a strategic communications nonprofit with offices in Berkeley, CA and Washington, DC. Rethink works to build communications capacity with nonprofit advocates working on arms control, national security, and human rights issues. I came to the Bay Area by way of Portland, Oregon, where I worked as a web content producer for Willamette Week, Portland's Pulitzer Prize winning alt weekly newspaper, and as a radio producer for KBOO Community Radio's Evening News program.

I'm interested in learning more about using Drupal on a SaaS model like Buzzr or Drupal Gardens, integrating a Drupal site with a CRM (particularly Salesforce), building house social networks using Drupal, Open Atrium users, and meeting Bay Area Drupal developers for big projects in the coming year. Would also love to connect with folks using Drupal in the nonprofit or communications space.
